COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course will help you improve your knowledge about calculation procedures in pharmacology for nursing. This course will cover following topics:

• • Basics of maths for medication calculation
  • First principles for medication calculation
  • How to uses percent and percentages
  • Units and equivalences
  • Moles and millimoles
  • Strength or concentration
  • Calculation of dosage
  • Calculating infusion rate
  • Intravenous therapy and infusion devices
  • Medication action and administration
  • Medication administration in the elderly

CERTIFICATION

After completing each topic in this course, you will receive certification of completion from VSHS for that topic. You will be able to combine a series of topics related to the same course and earn credit values for that course. Putting together a few courses may help you to be eligible to apply for a certification can be used for certification in a diploma program at VSHS.
