Application process
The application process will take around 30–45 minutes to complete if you have all the necessary documents available. The process is as follows:
1. Prepare all of your documents:
You will need to scan your documents into PDF format before you start your application. Be sure to limit the file size.
2. Complete and submit your application:
You will need to complete and submit your application forms online or in person. If you or your agent is planning to submit the application in person, you will need to download the application forms, fill them out, sign them and bring the forms to VSHS. If your agent is submitting the application, you will still need to sign the application forms yourself.
3. Pay the application fees:
You will need to pay a non-refundable application fee of $115 CAD for domestic applicants and $172.50 CAD for international applicants for the PGD program. Once you pay the fee and submit your application, you will receive an automated email confirming your submission and an invoice for your application fee. Your application will take 5–10 business days to be processed. Successful applicants will receive an email with a letter of conditional/temporary acceptance. This email will also include a course schedule, classes and related fees. As will be indicated in this letter, you cannot apply for a visa using this conditional/ temporary admission letter.
4. Pay your tuition fees for the first year of your program:
You will need to secure your place in the program in order to apply for a visa/study permit. For this purpose, you must:
Deposit tuition fees for the first year of your program ($13,250 CAD). You must deposit $8,000 CAD of this amount as soon as you receive your conditional admission letter. The rest of this fee must be deposited before you start your classes at VSHS (specialty courses or your English courses, depending on your situation).
Arrange for your universities or educational organizations to send your official documents/transcripts directly to VSHS, taking the application deadlines into account. Please see below for the application deadlines.

Application deadlines
Short-term programs do not have an application deadline and registration is open year-round when there is a minimum number of students (contact us for more information). Deadlines to apply for the PGD program are as follows:

5. Receive official acceptance letter:
a. After we receive your first-year tuition fee deposit and your official documents/ credentials, we will send you an official acceptance letter from VSHS that you can use to apply for a visa/study permit. We will also notify the Canadian Embassy of your acceptance for verification purposes. Any communication with the Canadian Embassy regarding your admission with VSHS is subject to verification using verify@VSHS.ca.
b. If you need to take the VSHS Intensive English Course in Global Village, you will automatically be registered for the English program by VSHS. However, you will need to deposit $1,000 CAD to secure your seat in your English classes. By applying to VSHS, you agree that you will fully participate in the English classes until you reach a satisfactory level, to be determined by the VSHS Language Committee. In this case, you will still receive your admission letter to apply for a visa. As will be stated in your acceptance letter, your registration for the PGD program specialty courses will be conditional to successfully meeting the English proficiency requirement.
6. Apply for settlement/additional support services in Vancouver:
If you will need support to settle in Vancouver, you are not alone. The VSHS accommodation support team will help you find an appropriate living space for a short-term or long-term stay. You will need to apply for our accommodation service during your application process. The cost will include the fees for your accommodation (depending on length of your stay, location, etc.) as well as an additional $350 CAD that should be paid with your tuition fee deposits. If you decide to rent a place/room for one year, you will need to pay a rental fee of your first month’s rent along with your tuition fees for the first year, plus half of the rental fee as a security deposit and the $350 CAD service fee. If you rent a place and do not want to stay there, you will need to consult your landlord regarding damage/penalties if they agree to cancel your agreement. Additional services are available upon request, including flight bookings, airport pickup, furnishing your living space, etc. You will need to submit an additional service application form online.
Apply to VSHS
In order to start your application to VSHS, you need to create a VSHS Login (VSHSL). Using your VSHSL username and password, you will be able to apply to VSHS, check the status of your application and access other resources such as the Learning Management System (LMS), print services, etc.
