Vancouver School of Health Sciences
Vancouver School of Health Sciences is a private institution located in Vancouver, Canada. VSHS provides a variety of long-term and short-term educational opportunities in health sciences targeting health care professionals in various disciplines such as medicine, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, recreational therapy, respiratory therapy, public health, epidemiology, health promotion, health education, medical and nursing education, educational technology in health, health literacy, adult learning and education, knowledge transfer and health care quality improvement, as well as health service research and information technology.

Our mission
Our mission at VSHS is to empower people studying or working in health-related fields around the world by providing educational opportunities conducive to the active application of evidence-based practice and health care quality improvement..

Our vision
We envision learning as an ongoing, participatory process that will empower the learner to make a greater contribution to real outcomes within the health care community. Ongoing learning is everybody’s right worldwide, and VSHS will try to provide opportunities for interested people and organizations to achieve their educational goals.

Our goal is to provide a variety of learning opportunities in health sciences to anyone who is interested in ongoing learning. Our mission is to grant equal access to learning opportunities for people interested in health sciences.
Next steps
There is an undeniable need for a global alliance to promote world health. This requires widespread engagement and the participation of all groups within health sciences to promote learning, research and education in order to meet the demand for qualified health care professionals for current and future generations.
Why VSHS
Accessing graduate and post-graduate studies is hard for a variety of reasons such as the limited number of educational institutions. This leads to a lack of access to ongoing learning and development for health care professionals, and a shortage of human resources in this field. VSHS is going to address this gap by providing equal access to learning opportunities in health sciences from graduate and post-graduate programs as well as short-term educational activities such as workshops and seminars. VSHS will strive to bring professors and instructors from well-known universities or similarly high-profile instructors together to provide high-quality learning opportunities for its students. Additionally, our course outlines follow a similar structure to those of well-known schools. In this way, VSHS aims to provide a similar educational experience for its students as that of these exclusive schools. In doing so, VSHS is working to remove the barriers that prevent equal access to the educational opportunities and learning experiences provided by well-known universities.

The academic year at VSHS starts on the first Monday of September and ends on the last Friday of August; Summer Term (July–August) is optional.
